Letter from The PCF President
Dear Families and Friends of PCS,
PCS has offered a public educational choice to students and families in Santa Cruz County for the last 16 years. Founded by teachers and parents who envisioned a rigorous college preparatory experience for local junior and senior high school students, PCS has consistently won awards and other recognition from independent sources as well as accolades from PCS families and students.
PCS has thrived in the two rented sites it has occupied since its founding, and has concentrated its efforts on building an exceptional program which over the years has expanded to accommodate about 500 students. The PCS Board of Directors has known for some time that sooner or later the school would ultimately have to grapple with the long-term facilities challenge.
When the notice to vacate the current facility by July 2015 was received, PCS leaders and community members stepped forward to secure the future of PCS. PCS deserves a school site that is well suited to its programs, and one that will house the school permanently, without further interruption of what it does best – preparing motivated students with the skills and experiences they need to thrive and excel at the world’s finest colleges and universities.
We invite you to step forward as well. We need you! The Foundation has only a few months left to finish retrofitting the building it purchased to house PCS in March 2014. We are now in the FINAL phase of our capital campaign, BUILDING A HOME FOR EXCELLENCE. All gifts to the campaign are tax-deductible.
